Videogames
Though my academic background is in Product Design and Engineering, I have been working in the videogames industry for the past 5 years now.
I started my journey as a Technical Artist — a position where the creative and technical skills I'd picked up as a Design Engineer really came in handy. With time, I realised I wanted to have more of a say on the player experience and I made the transition into Game Design.
I have been working on unannounced projects I can't disclose a lot about but below is an overview of the sort of work I have been involved with.

Technical Art
UI Implementation
Making the jump from Engineering to Videogames was a challenge but I couldn't feel luckier I am now a part of such a fun industry! I quickly realised that Technical Artists are the Design Engineers of the videogame world: people with an eye for detail that can translate a creative vision into a functional and efficient final product.
I joined Ubisoft as a Tech Artist specialised in UI implementation, working on an unannounced AAA project being built in one of Ubisoft's propriety game engines. I was part of a team of 3 Tech Artists, working in close collaboration with UI Art, UX Design, Game Design and UI GPP.

Systems, mechanics and features
I learnt a lot as a TA and I really loved the technical challenges it brought my way but with time, I started missing having a creative input on the project. I wanted to be the person who shaped the gameplay experience for our players and in a way, take a step towards my Product Design roots.
I continued working on the same unannounced AAA project as part of a large Design team of about 20 people for about a year. During this time, I specialised on Systems and Game Economy. The project then downsized as the company went through consultation. I was fortunate to keep my job alongside 3 other designers and together, we got put on a different unannounced AAA project within the Assassin's Creed franchise. We now work closely with Direction, LD and GPP.
